The Old Donkey

Once, an old loyal donkey fell into a deserted well. It cried pitifully while the farmer tried to think of a solution. Finally, he decided cover the donkey as it was too old and too weak to carry heavy loads, so it just wasn't worth it to him to try to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his cousins, friends, neighbors, and all those passer-bys that could help him to come over and help him cover up his donkey. They each grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well as fast as possible without looking a glance at the poor donkey. Realizing what was happening, the donkey at first cried and wailed horribly.

Then, a few minutes later, the donkey quieted down completely. The farmer peered down into the well, and was stunned by words on seeing what he saw. With every shovel-full of dirt that hit his back, the donkey would shake it off and take a step up on the new layer of dirt. As the farmer and his helper continued to shovel dirt on top of it, it would shake it off and take a step up the new layer of dirt. So this continues while the donkey stepped up over the brim of the well and trotted off, leaving the farmer and his helpers behind, also to the shock and astonishment of everyone.

Life is just like that, shoveling dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The only way to get out of the well is to stop moaning, and not let the dirt cover you, but to clear it off and take a step up. Each one of our troubles is a step of stair. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

The Broken Pot

I know some of you out there will think that they’re useless, in fact, I believe majority. If not because you did badly for your exams, it is because people like to tease you, call you useless due to some of your disability. Well, even if you are disable, you will never be unable. ‘The Story Of The Broken Pot’ will tell you that each one of you have your own unique abilities.

There was once a water bearer who had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck every day. One of the pots had a crack in it so it only delivered half portion of water, but the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

A couple of years went on like this, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house. Of course, the perfect pot was as vain as a peacock of its accomplishments, perfect for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was deeply depressed of its own imperfection, and it was also ashamed that it was able to accomplish only half pot full of water.

After two years of what it supposed to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, I want to apologize to you for the lousy accomplishments I had done because of my flaws, you have to do a lot of this work, and you don't get full value from the efforts that you had done as I had disappointed you, I had really failed you." the broken pot said.

On hearing this, the bearer smiled and took it to the path from well to the bearer’s house. Then, the bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers all along both sides of the path? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I planted flower seeds on both sides of the path. Every day, I switched your place and the perfect pot’s place, while we walk back, water leaked down from your pot, so it means you've watered them. And because of this, our house has a beautiful view. For two long years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate our house. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique ability, whether now or later. You may not realize it, but you may some day, live on, lead a normal life.

Mighty Momma

Have you been shouting at your mother all these years? Have you been disobeying your mum? Have you said words like “I hate you!”? I am sure you’ll somehow do those things, the things that will break your mother’s heart. So if you have, stop it now, be nice to your mum, talk nicely to you’re your mum, even if she nag at you. ‘It’s for your own good’ I believe you heard this many times, truly, it is for your own good, have you think whether is your mum is right before you rebel? Sometimes they will vent their anger on us when they are in trouble, don’t get angry, accept it first. When your mum is cooled down, then you talk to her nicely. Well, here’s an experience from me…

It was my friend’s graduation party and they invited me. It was from 8am till 2pm. Due to the traffic and the distant, I take off at 6 in the morning, just after my breakfast. We were playing too happy that we forgot about the time, we go arcade and then go for a movie after the party. Time flew really too fast that it is already 3 in the next morning. I decided to take a cab home then. You surely can guess what I see when I reached home. My dad, with flames in his eyes, was waiting for me, and I think it took almost 2 months for him to forgive me. That is ok, but there was no sign of mum. Then I knew all these while she was worrying about me, and I didn’t even answer her calls. I go to the bus stop, and then I saw her, all alone, in the middle of a night, sitting on the bench, patiently waiting for me beside the ‘carless’ road. Tears rolled down my chin faster than waterfall. I ran to her and gave her the biggest hug I had ever done. I thought that she was going to be so mad that her hairs will become spiked, but oddly, not only she didn’t blame me, she even pleaded Dad to forgive me.

From that day on, I targeted myself to be as obedient as possible, not to be too playful, trying to help Mum as much as I can. Actually, sometimes I think that mothers are so incredible! Even though her mouth was like threatening or criticizing, in her heart, every word scolded or every stroke canned was like a needle piercing her skin. I think the words ‘It’s for your own good’ is true somehow…

The Invisible Letter

Many people blamed God when they lost their loved ones (die), but they did not realized why God did it, Why did God do it? Sometimes people just do not know what God had give them, the simply forgot God’s kindness and blame God when they lost someone they care for. Here’s a story that could let you see why God organized someone to R.I.P:

Sally jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: "How is my little boy? Is he going to be alright? When can I see him?"

The surgeon said, "I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn’t make it."

Sally said, "Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?"

The surgeon asked, "Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university."

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.

"Would you like a lock of his hair?" the nurse asked.

Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally. The mother said, "It was Jimmy's idea is to donate his body to the University for Study. He said it might help somebody else. "I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom." She went on, "My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else, always wanting to help others if he could."

Sally walked out of Children's mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She lay down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Lying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said:

"Dear Mom, I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say I LOVE YOU. I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy! So you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know. Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures... Yet, when I saw him, I knew it was him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good-bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God handed me some paper and his own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He when I needed him?' "God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.

Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm, sure the food will be great.
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special
Delivery! How about that? ”

- Signed with Love from: God, Jesus & Me.

This is a true life experience from my friend's cousin, remember, you may think something is unfair, think again, could it be that God did it because of a purpose? Actually, sometimes I feel that the storm awaits before the fantasy does. You must overcome the storm, face it, then after that you can relax. It's not because of power, it's because of calmness......

Patient is a way to SUCCESS

“I give up already!”
“I won’t make it!”
“I hate this!”
I believe you must have heard these before. These words are very common in this world. People now are easily irritated by things that they fail, they don’t believe in success. Actually success is not that easy to earn, it needs patient. PATIENT, the key, the one and only key to success. People just don’t have the patient. I know it because I used to be VERY impatient as well when I was young. I strongly believe on one thing, the one who suffer the most is the most success one. It means no matter what happen, keep smiling, keep shining; your patient will lead you to your goal. I got a lot of friends, all impatient, that’s how I see myself in them, saw how I overcome the problem in a wrong way. It all started from an incident……

I was a basketball noob in my school. My classmates tease me, only a few support me. Days go on and I decided to practice myself when I was free. I wanted to prove them wrong. I just do not want to be teased for the remaining days! So next day, I go to a basketball court nearest to my house. It was 4 in the evening when not many people are there. There was only a boy named Peter sitting on a wheelchair, trying to score a two-pointer goal. I pity him sitting in wheel chair, so I help him pick up the ball while practicing. He thanked me after each time I helped him to pick up the ball. Wow, quite boring too, but since I was concentrating to score, I can’t be bothered.
A while later, I were very tired already, I sat down on the bench, watching peter play while drinking the Pepsi. Surprisingly, he finally scored a goal, then when he ready for harder stage, he continued, and continued. I asked him how he do it, he says “Patient is the key to success, actually, sometimes the one that suffers a lot will have more shocking results than what one targeted.” From his words, I got more confident in me, I tried my best, and I did it. In fact, the week after, I had a match with my friends that used to laugh at me. They got really stunned when I won them by 49 marks even my team had short of 3 members compared to theirs.

The warmth of a glass of milk

Have you heard of ‘pay back’? I don’t mean someone borrowed money from you and sometime later you call him/her to pay you back your money. What I mean is the kind of ‘pay back’ you receive after you helped someone. But I DON’T mean that you help others because you want others to ‘pay you back’. That will certainly give you a minus 99.99% of your good deed. What I mean is…sometimes, even when people look down on you, take advantage of you, bully you, treat you like dirt, don’t be angry. On the other hand, never expect a ‘pay back’ from others when you help them. Read this story and you will understand…..

Caught in the cold winter, Jack, a beggar, was begging people for money and food, heartlessly they don’t even give enough a dollar. His hunger had him almost killed. He decided to knock for food. Hours passed, none gave him food, until he knocked this particular house, the poorest of all. It was a young sweet lady with the loveliest smile he ever seen. He got embarrassed and asked the lady if she had a glass of milk. The lady invited him to sit while she poured a big glass of milk for him. Deeply in touched, he asked how much milk he would get for 67 cents. “Free”, replied the lady, “Doing something good to help others is my job, I don’t need your money”. He thanked and drank it in a matter of seconds. The lady gave Jack ten dollars before he leave, she told him to take care.

Years flew so fast and the lady had an illness that no doctor could cure. When Jack knew this, he rushed to read and discover the cure to the lady’s illness. Successfully, he found it out, he dashed to her house and cured her illness. When Jack’s servant told him about the bill, he wrote some words and signed on it. The lady woke up, but did not remember Jack. She received the bills and she cried, the letter said “ Miss, you do not need to pay this ten million US already, you had paid full from the glass of milk you gave me when I was still a beggar.”
